Fast yet Gorgeous Hair with TRESemmé Fresh Start Dry Shampoo

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of TRESemmé for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

My new schedule demands more from my morning than I am used to--I'm up before the sun to hit the gym and hoping that I can get dressed up, looking good, and ON TIME to work. Most days, I barely have time to change and pull my hair up, let alone wash my hair. It's a struggle for me to go straight from sweaty gym chick to professional, somewhat sophisticated teacher with only 20 or so minutes each morning. So, imagine my delight when I discovered TRESemmé Fresh Start Dry Shampoo! A way to achieve gorgeous hair each morning without taking the time to wash? Could it be? The answer is YES.

TRESemmé's complete line of dry shampoos revive your style's look and feel on days that you skip the much needed shampoo--uniquely formulated to absorb excess oil and remove odor, this full line of dry shampoos rejuvenate hair without a drop of water, leaving hair fresh and ready to go!

With an entire line of TRESemmé Fresh Start Dry Shampoos, you're sure to find the perfect product for your hair!

  • Volumizing Dry Shampoo, with mineral clay and citrus, removes oil while injecting hair with salon-gorgeous volume.

What's more, Beauty YouTuber Forever Yours Beauty has teamed up with TRESemmé and created a tutorial to teach you how to use TRESemmé Dry Shampoo properly--check it out, because as they say, that's not all! She is also giving away a $500 Gift Card to Target to one lucky viewer, so hurry and check it out!!

Tips on achieving the best results from TRESemmé Fresh Start Dry Shampoo:

  • Shake vigorously before use and in between spray bursts for best results. Lift sections of dry hair
  • and spray lightly at roots. Spray in short bursts, holding  8-12 inches from head.
  • Don't spray it like hair spray (all over and continuously)
  • Leave in for 1-2 minutes. Use fingertips tor a brush to distribute product evenly. If clogging occurs, remove nozzle and rinse the nozzle under warm water, then reattach.

Sunday Sweets #6--Fabulous Fall

As much as I have enjoyed the warmth of Summer and am not looking forward to a cold and dark winter--at all--there certainly is something special about Fall--it has always been my absolute FAVORITE of the four seasons, after all.

"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower." ~Albert Camus

I can't wait to go to the Pumpkin Patch with my little first graders and Cider Mills with my favorite Smartie-Pants family! (Yes Carolyn, I'm still holding you to that--booking my flight at this very instant!) Oh how I do love Fall. <3

America actually DOES have talent!

Seriously, I am so ready to road trip it down to Vegas just to see this man--then I could die happy--most beautiful voice I have ever heard. Every time he opens his mouth I am blown away with sheer awesomeness.

Sunday Sweets #5--SLEEP

"Sleep is the golden chain that ties health and our bodies together." ~Thomas Dekker

How often we forget the essentials--I'm sick, and I'm HATING it (stupid weather changes!), but being sick almost always reminds me of how important our health really is, and how vital it is that we take care of ourselves. If you don't take care of yourself first, how on earth are you supposed to do virtually anything else? So, remember to get some sleep--that to do list isn't going anywhere, trust me. Besides, I watch how much my little puppy sleeps, and how much dang energy she has when she wakes up--and if sleep is what it takes to have that, I'm going for it. ;)

What I Wore--Rainbow Day!!

Our final color day: RAINBOW DAY!!!

Okay, I know I said pink was my favorite day, and maybe it still is, but I gotta admit--I was totally lovin' rainbow day! Especially since I made this awesome rainbow skirt a while back that was just perfect!

"Rainbows apologize for angry skies." ~Sylvia Voirol

"My heart leaps up when I behold
A rainbow in the sky..."
~William Wordsworth

"Be thou the rainbow in the storms of life. The evening beam that smiles the clouds away, and tints tomorrow with prophetic ray." ~Lord Byron

With matching watch band of course (my students think I have a billion different watches--it's the same watch, I promise, just different fabrics from my stash):

and we can't forget the Rainbow SONG! Remember that from the good old days? Oh my goodness, it was so much fun to watch Mrs. Ord (MY first grade teacher--she's still there, and still the best!) teach the first graders the rainbow song--it's like going back in time, only better. :)

Red and yellow and pink and green
Purple and orange and blue
I can sing a rainbow,
sing a rainbow,
sing a rainbow too.

Listen with your eyes,
Listen with your ears,
and sing everything you see,
I can sing a rainbow,
sing a rainbow,
sing along with me.

Red and yellow and pink and green,
Purple and orange and blue,
I can sing a rainbow,
sing a rainbow,
sing a rainbow too!

What I Wore--Brown Day

Day Seven--Brown Day!

The night before as I was getting things ready for the next day (I go to the gym before work in the morning, and let's face it--I don't move so fast in the mornings and am usually running late, so I try to get done as much as I can the night before), I decided I would make some earrings to match my skirt (also made by me, not to brag, haha :P). I had a small scrap of fabric from my graduation dress that I just adore, but this scrap is just too small to do anything--seriously, it was like a 3" x 1" strip--but I just couldn't bring myself to throw it out. So what to do? How about some matching earrings!

Happy brown day--or in my mind, happy CHOCOLATE day! Collin (I haven't mentioned Collin before, have I? He's my little buddy I get to spend nearly all my day with, basically the reason my job is so much fun! But more on that later) has been looking forward to brown day since the first day of school, because he just LOVES chocolate--a man after my own heart. <3

What I Wore--Pink Day

Day Six--my favorite day--PINK DAY!!!

This is possibly my favorite skirt--not only because I made it, but because it's pink and ruffly and girly and just fun! All of the girls in my class just loved it--pretty sure that this was their favorite of my outfits thus far--it certainly was a great way to make friends with my students. One girl asked me to eat lunch with her, and then her friend was upset because SHE wanted to sit by me at lunch--yup, my pinkness is definitely a great way to make friends. :)

"I don't think I will ever get tired of wearing pink."

What I Wore--White Day

Day Five--White Day!

"White... is not a mere absence of colour; it is a shining and affirmative thing, as fierce as red, as definite as black... God paints in many colours; but He never paints so gorgeously, I had almost said so gaudily, as when He paints in white."
~G. K. Chesterton

    Sunday Sweets #4--America

    AMERICA: 'nuff said. <3

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

    What I Wore--Black Day

    Day 4: Black Day!

I had two different schedules for the color days; one of them said that today was white day, the other said it was black day. So, to compromise, I went with a black AND white ensemble:

I had to borrow a Tinkeranniebelle flower headband from my TinkerMama (I really do need to start making some things for me to wear!)--isn't it just lovely?

And my awesome clearance shoes, as usual:

"There's something strange and powerful about black-and-white imagery."

    What I Wore--Orange Day

Day 3 of first grade: ORANGE DAY! My favorite about orange day was explaining to my first graders that I was, in fact, wearing orange, even if my shirt wasn't orange--gotta love first grade thinking. ;)

    "Orange is the happiest color."
    ~Frank Sinatra

    What I Wore--Purple Day

The second day at my new job was PURPLE DAY!!

"I never saw a purple cow; I never hope to see one; But I can tell you, anyhow, I'd rather see than be one." ~Frank Gelett Burgess

"I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don't notice it." ~Alice Walker

    Affects of the color purple:
    Uplifting
    Calming to mind and nerves
    Offers a sense of spirituality
    Encourages creativity

    What I Wore--Green Day

What I love about First Grade: COLOR DAYS! Since I was waiting for fingerprinting and background checks (hope they didn't find anything too interesting in my record, haha), I missed the first three color days (primary colors of course), but at least I got in for the rest. First up, GREEN DAY

"Absolute green is the most restful color, lacking any undertone of joy, grief, or passion."
    ~Wassily Kandinsky

    What I Wore--Back to School!

Okay, so I grew up, became an adult, graduated from college, got a real big-person's-job, and... went back to the First Grade!! Haha, that's right--I graduated from college just to go back to elementary school--how awesome is that? I officially got a job at my Alma Mater, Wasatch Elementary School, working with the most adorable first graders on the planet. Today the girls were fighting over who got to sit by me at lunch--so much love. <3

So, now that I have a REAL job, I have get to dress up for work every day! I just LOVE back to school shopping (even if it's just from my own closet).

Like the headband? My TinkerMama made it--and we are busy at work making many more for my shop--soon to come! :)

I just LOVE Fall colors--LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

Oh, and can't forget my $4 dollar Payless Shoes:

    September means...
    School,
    Effort, and
    Play.
    Trying your best
    Each hour of the day,
    Making new friends
    Being good as you can
    Exciting discoveries,
    Reading books with a friend.
    ~Boni Fulgham

    Sunday Sweets #3

You might fail--in fact, the odds of failing are rather large at times--but you know what, if you're afraid to fail, doesn't that in part mean that you are also afraid to succeed? Either option is better than just sitting on your behind doing nothing, so why not at least try? Besides, failing doesn't have to be a bad thing--ever had an EPIC fail? Now those are just plain awesome, and usually a lot. Definitely worth a try, don't you think? :)

    What I Wore--Interviews Galore

If at first you don't succeed, try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try again... and if that doesn't work, get some rest and try again tomorrow.

Do you know how many jobs I have applied for in the past year? How many interviews I've gone too? Seriously, this economy is not treating my family so great... or anyone I know for that matter--when I graduated from high school, you could get most jobs you wanted--not necessarily ghte best jobs, but decent ones. Now you can't even get the cheap high school level jobs, it's ridiculous! I have an extremely qualified friend who interviewed for 70 jobs before getting just a part-time job--ridiculous! After a while it almost doesn't even seem worth it...

but then there was this one job that I was especially interested in, so I decided to actually put some effort into my interview (I've been getting lazy, not going to lie--of course, lazy for me is like A- work, haha--yes, an A- is considered failing in my head :P)--or at least find something enjoyable about it (I HATE INTERVIEWS!! It's like, let's see how stupid we can make you feel, and if there is anything left of you after the humiliation and belittlement, well... we'll got from there), so, here is my new job interview outfit:

Oh, and in case you're wondering if I use shopping as a pick-me-up even though I have no money, I most certainly do not! This entire ensemble came was born out of forgotten remnants of my closet (some even as far back as high school maybe--gasp!). I didn't spend a cent thank you very much!

I was pretty proud of myself, not gonna lie--especially since chic-business-like attire usually isn't my forte--but once I put it together, I was rather enjoying it:

Sometimes a little black, some stiletto heels, a nice high-waist pencil skirt, and a good pair of sunglasses can really give you an awesome boost of feminine confidence--this "nobody-better-mess-with-me-because-I-just-look-too-dang-good" feeling. I don't know, maybe it's just me. ;)

So, having said that, I want to say that I am EXTREMELY GRATEFUL that I now have a job! and more importantly, I LOVE IT!!! Seriously, who knew that going to work every day could be this much fun??? Maybe that little boost of confidence was exactly what I needed, who knows.

"You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you might find, you get what you need."
    ~The Rolling Stones
