U of M

During my stay in Michigan, my brother-in-law took me on a tour of the University of Michigan's campus--and on such a beautiful Autumn day, what could be better??

I LOVE how many trees are in Michigan!

We even got to check out his genius labORatory:

On a side note... can you believe that he is part of the Literature, Science, and the Arts?

And we took a stop at the Law Library:

If I were to give in and go to law school, I would definitely want to go here--who wouldn't want to study in a library that looks like this??

Of course we took my adorable little niece on our little stroll--and she was so well behaved!

Okay, now this picture is just for fun--remember how beautiful the law school is? Check out the business school--nice contrast, don't you think? :P

Oh how I love Michigan in the Fall!

Where I've Been

Two weeks ago I picked up some fun virus from those lovely little first graders--teaching first grade without a voice was really fun, let me tell you... :P Anyway... after a week of torture, I hopped a plane and headed off to enjoy Fall Break with my sister, brother-in-law, and adorable little niece!!!

What better way to cheer you up than looking at that little face??

We had lots of fun--I think she especially enjoyed playing with all my jewelry and long hair. ;)

Best week ever! :)

A niece makes life a little sweeter. <3

Fun Flower Clips for Baby Girl

Spending time with my little niece makes me want to make more little girl things! I do enjoy making pretty things that I can wear and use, but you know--there is something special about little girl things. I wish I could wear lacy polka dot rainbow tights, and big frilly bows on top of my head, and Shirley Temple curls, and petticoats and pretty sparkling things... anyway, little girl things are just so much fun!

So cute, right? So, I've got lots of pretty Kanzashi Daisy Flower Clips and Headbands for you!

Cute, right? (the clips aren't half bad either, hehe)

and a HUGE thank you to SAHM of ETSY for featuring my headbands and clips!

Pop Parade

One of the fun things they do at our school's Fall Festival is the Pop Parade. Now when I was a kid, it was the Cake Walk--you baked and decorated your own cake and entered it into the decorating contest, then later that night the cakes were given away at the cake walk--but of course, the rules have changed since my day, and now you can't use homemade baked goods. Instead of the Cake Walk, we now have the Pop Parade--instead of decorating a cake, the kids decorate pop cans and pop bottles (sealed of course), enter them into the contest, then they have a Pop Walk later that night at the festival. For first graders, I thought our class's entrees turned out pretty cute:

Brad and his frog prince:

Alisa's fish:

Brooklyn's flag:

Chloe's dog and mom:

Collin's spider and jack-o-lantern:

Complete with fangs!

Marigold's creation:

Marley's bumblebee:

Miles' rocket-ship (complete with flames):

Debbie's princess:

Shreyash's butterfly:

Yup, gotta love first grade. :)

What I Wore--Red, Black, and White

Have I ever told you how much I love black, red, and white? It's like the elegance and classic feel of black and white, but with a little fiery red attitude--the perfect color combination!

So, one of my personal interpretations of said combination--made by me! :)

Okay, so when you look at that little girl--doesn't she make you smile? I think there's a life lesson in that somewhere. :)
